A story - 3 Weeks 4 days

They spoke daily for 3 weeks and 4 days.

He was the best friend of her ex, he was the one she thought about
every time they made love, he was the one she secretly wanted, he was
the one she couldn't have.

She broke up from her boyfriend and months passed until she had enough
courage to contact the one she lusted after - She did it and they spoke
for 3 weeks, 4 days.

They had agreed and this was it, in 10 minutes time he was going to
call her and tell her the coast was clear for her to go over, she
waited, it felt like a lifetime and the feeling of a thousand winged
animals circulated inside her stomach. The images of what was about to
happen made her feel dizzy and weak.

She was so lost in the haziness that when the phone began to ring she
jumped whilst her breath caught up with her, she grabbed the phone,
whilst her hands shook and heard him whisper 'all clear' and with that
she hung up. She started the ignition and put her foot down on the
accelerator, maybe it was wrong to drive when she felt mentally so
unstable.

She was sitting watching the house, watching his shadow behind the
curtain, she felt so nervous and excited at the same time she thought
she may faint.

She sat in the car for a few more minutes calming herself down and
trying to build up the courage to actually knock at the door, she lit
up a cigarette, opened the window, put her head back on the chair, her
eyes were closed. She didn't hear his front door open or close, she
didn't hear his footsteps approaching her, the only thing she did hear
was his kiss at the same time that she felt it, his lips practically
drew her out from her car and into his bedroom, she didn't know how she
got there or if she was doing the right thing but she didn't care, all
she knew was that they were there together and that was all that
mattered.

She left his house feeling fulfilled and glowing as if it had all been
a dream..

For 3 weeks and 4 days her phone hasn't rung, her email has no new
messages and her stomach has not had the feeling of a thousand winged
animals circling inside.

For 3 weeks and 4 days she has not been able to think about anything
else.

In 3 weeks and 4 days she fell in love.

In 1 night her dreams came true and in her whole lifetime she will
never forget him - he was the one she thought about every time she made
love, he was the one she secretly wanted, he was the one she couldn't
