A- Metamorphosis

I woke up one day
looked at myself
saw pale, clammy skin
a receding hairline
red eyes
felt ill and empty

I looked in the mirror and saw nothing
I was like a vampire
I'd live forever in misery
always hungry
but my need wasn't for blood
