XWaiting for my Lover

Waiting for my lover quit and still
With far to much time to kill
On the Embankment elevated to see
The river reflecting me
It's mood at low ebb with hardly a ripple
Saved by the suns reflective stipple
On bridge and pier it dances
And lifts me heart as it prances
The gentle breeze raise the lazy flags
That fain a flutter then sags
The leaves dance to a little tune
Which is sweet but gone to soon
The sun it seems rains supreme
Quieting it's subjects by heat and steam
Save for my hearts flutter
When at last I hear my telephone stutter
The sound almost drowned by the cacophony
But is no match for modern telephony
Private now in my phones embrace
As if my lover had touched my face
I hold his hand soft and gentle
Letting his words sooth my mental
And tortured mind
Telling me where we can find and meet, dine and entwine.
