Parasites

I am all there is
Histories foundation, futures source
Tread lightly on this fleshy ground
Finger tenderly, the cavenous lesions of parasitic spate
For you are no longer carried in the arms of profusion
But borne by the remnants of ravenous need
As oceans pervade venom to shore
You, will lap the lubricate of mortal demise
Space, once to gaze
Now littered with the desolate dreams of desire
Earth to be entire and yet, with gaping jowl
Ignorance undermines the very facets that will let subsistence be
Everyday declines resource
Recognition resonates to the celestial
As all seen, touched, and wondered thanklessly expires
To what heed will annihilation cease?
If I were glass would you tender?
If I were gold would you save?
If verdant ground rose to each breath, would you feel?
Responsibility mounts sealing lips to the sacrifice of
expectation
As sightless eyes and irresolute promises meld the delusion of
today
Consequence wordlessly obliterates the reality of tomorrow
