Hey, God!

Hey, God! Whose side are you on?
It sure ain't mine- what did I do wrong?
I admit that I have said a few
Things that maybe were not strictly true,
And when I think a little more
I've done things that weren't exactly within the law.
But I can't believe I should suffer so much
For the things I have done or have left untouched.
Most of crimes have been against me:
Is that what you resent or cannot bear to see?
The World hasn't stopped nor Time stood still
For the sake of a razor-blade and a few pills.
I don't feel the punishment fits the crime,
Nor do I believe I can serve my time.
So, God, all-powerful, merciful Might,
Please fold me again in your wings of light.
