The Ocean Between Us

“If my love for you

was an ocean,

there would be no land,

my dearest”,

She told him one night.

And he replied,

“Oh my darling,

my love for you is an ocean!

It is called the Atlantic.

Like my love for you,

it is massive and deep.

Although we may be,

on opposite sides,

it is the one thing

that connects us,

that keeps us together.

When we meet,

and are on both sides

of this ocean,

my love for you

will be so much stronger

and so much larger,

that I solemnly swear it will

drown and consume anyone

who tells you otherwise”.

And then at that moment,

both simultaneously agreed

that nothing in this universe;

not the ocean or the miles in between

could defeat their everlasting love.
