Now, this is what has happened so far. I met this who I thought was a stunning man named Damian. He had been watching me for about a year, I don't know why yet. It turns out he is a vampire, imagine that! After realizing Damian is watching me, this other vampire, Alexander Cromwell starts to watch me as well. Now, you would think one vampire--even though he's as sweet as honey--is bad enough, now I have two. Good thing I met the nice one. I see him and Alexander fight, and start to drive away. So Damian ends up "saving" me--which I don't look at it as saving since he was the one who caused me to hit my head. And not to mention caused me to drive away so crazily in the first place. So anyway, the next day he comes to my house and explains almost everything to me. I still don't know why he was watching me, and I don't know any of his vampiric details. I guess I could save that for another day.
When it comes to the next week in school, I have one word: horrible. Of course, everyone noticed my huge bruise, which it wasn't as bad as the weekend before, but it was still big. Yes, everyone stared and questioned me one-thousand times. Mindy, asked her questions of Damian. John, just listened with a disgusted face. I have to admit now, he was right to not like him. He was dangerous. I didn't even know why I was so drawn to him, even before I found out about his secret.
On Friday, I came home from school to an empty house. I looked everywhere for any note of some kind to give me an idea of where my parents had gone. I found nothing. It was creepy to be home all by myself knowing a vampire was after me and another one could be watching me at any moment.
Damian and I text each other almost every day that week. We talked about anything and everything. I trusted him a lot, he was protecting me. I had gotten hooked to him. And on Friday when I came home, I was expected him to show up later on that night. He had promised it to me.
Are you going to come over today after work?
Mindy texted me after I was one eating. I definitely wasn't leaving my house knowing Damian was to show up later after my shift.
I'll come down tomorrow. I'm hanging out with Damian tonight. I simply sent and awaited her excited reply. She was getting frustrated that I haven't been over there in a while, but I wasn't passing hanging out with Damian up. That night I worked from four to nine. I wasn't too thrilled, but I was still going to go.
As I got ready to leave, I became anxious. I loved being around Damian. The atmosphere he brought to any room he was in was heart-pounding. It was amazing being around him. He had become very important to me in such a short while, I could only hope he felt the same about me.
When I left the house I made sure all the doors were locked. I had become even more cautious about things since Damian had told me about Alexander. I unlocked my doors to my car. It had been storming all day, but at that time the rain had stopped for a little while. The dark clouds covered the sky. I loved it. I always loved good storms and the way they left the sky looking afterwards. I slid into my car and checked my dashboard. No notes.
I looked out my windshield at the dark forest behind my house. The long rain left it dark and creepy. I tried not to think about anything as I pulled out of my driveway and drove along to Chica's. But of course, with the mind I had, it raced full of ideas.
I wonder what Alexander looks like. Did I ever see him before? I wonder what he is like. Damian said he was very dangerous. I wonder why he is like that. What if he popped out of the forest and jumped on my car or something? My heart thumped in my chest at the possibilities. I had an idea of what vampires could do. I had done my research many times before. Of course, Damian never told me what vampires are capable of. I had to remember to ask him that.
"Hey, Angie!" I heard when I walked into the back of Chica's. It was Mindy, of course.
"Hey," I simply said and gave her a smile.
"John is coming here later to hang out with us. He misses hanging out with you. You haven't been with us lately outside of school. He's worried about you," Mindy said and grimaced. I rolled my eyes. Great.
"Well, he shouldn't be," I said and she agreed. John was always worrying about us. It bugged me a lot, Mindy also. We were often disdaining him. I knew he was going to hang out with us just to check up on me. I saw him everyday, he knew I was alright. When he first saw my bruise, he almost had a heart-attack. Even when is disappeared he was still wondering what really happened. He knew I lied.
Chica's was packed that day. It usually was. I must have waited on each table at least three times that day. As my hours lengthened, my heart started to skip again. I was getting anxious to get off work and see Damian again. But around eight, I looked at the door and saw John enter the restaurant. Mindy and I looked at each other from across the diningroom.
John sat at a table and looked at me. He smiled sweetly. I smiled back and acted excited to see him. I watched Mindy walk over and talk to him, then turn and wave for me to go over. Please, spare me. I walked over to John's table to join them.
"Hey, John. What's up," I said and they both looked at me.
"Hey, Angie. I thought I'd drop by and hang out a little bit tonight. Do you guys feel like doing to the club tonight," John asked. I looked outside at the darkness and remembered what Damian had said.
"Well, I was planning on just going home. I have other plans," I said and Mindy winked at me and gave me a huge smile.
"Oh, come on. We all need to hang out tonight."
"Well, I am busy too. I have to go home and watch Madeline. Maybe we could hang out a little bit here, not that long though."
"Yeah," I agreed. John just sighed and looked at us both.
"Alright. We'll hang out here for a little while," I could see something else in John's eyes. Something strange that made me feel uncomfortable. I cocked my head slightly, but tried not to show my confusion. We all agreed and Mindy and I got back to waiting on tables.
When 8:30 came around, John was still sitting at his table. Mindy had gone over to talk to him. I only had a half hour left before I was done and could leave. When I was about to turn around and walked to the back of the restaurant, I heard a rumbling of an engine rolling down the road. I immediately turned and looked out the door windows to the parkinglot. I watched as two lights came closer and closer to the lot. Then, the car turned into it and parked. My eyes widened. An amazing car pulled into the parkinglot of Chica's. Many costumers stood up and looked out the windows, awed at its magnificence.
It was a black Ferrari. No, a Lamborghini. It was a black Lamborghini with one heck of a powerful engine. It roared to a stop like a reluctant beast being settled by its master. I stared out the windows, expecting to see some gangster or at least someone of high authority. I watched as a shadowy figure got out and turned to face the restaurant. The man had a hat on, and was dressed in black from head to toe. I felt someone walk up behind me and I spun around quickly. Mindy just looked back and forth between me and the dark man. I turned back to see him again. He was walking up to the doors.
I squinted. The other people in the restaurant were chattering and commenting on the car, I just watched. The dark figure walked to the glass doors and swung one open. He lifted his head and my mouth dropped. I looked into the white face of the man and couldn't believe it was Damian. He spotted me and flashed his perfect smile. I almost died.
"Angie," Damian said softly as he walked up to me. Mindy said nothing. She was just as shocked as I was. My heart pounded in my chest. Damian's eyes lowered and he looked down at my chest. He sighed.
"I am sorry. I did not mean to make such a entrance. I just thought I would drop by and say hello," Damian perfect voice vibrated through the air wonderfully as it always had before.
"Oh, it's okay," I managed to get out barely.
"Damian! Your car is awesome," Mindy screamed next to me. I sighed, but Damian laughed beautifully so I smiled.
"Thank you," he said and I couldn't help but smile again. Mindy was practically bouncing next to me.
"So how have you been--" she tired to make conversation. But I couldn't let her start flirting with him.
"Mindy, we'll be right back," I said and walked with Damian to a corner of Chica's where nobody was. I stopped next to the fishtank and turned to Damian. He had a cute smile on his face as he stared into my eyes. I blushed. My heart continued to thump loudly.
"Angie, I think you need to calm down. Your heart is being too fast. It is very tempting..." he said and my eyes widened.
"Tempting?"
"I am a vampire. Your heartbeat is thrilling to me. Even your smell is mouth-watering." My body tingled and I crossed my arms. I didn't know how to respond. I just cocked my head. "I am sorry. I am not trying to frighten you," Damian put his hand up and moved it over my cheek as if to rub it touch my softly. But his hand never made contact with my skin. I wished it would have. I looked into his deep eyes. He looked down with his soft face and smiled slightly.
"I came here just to check on you. Do you still wish for me to come into your house tonight?"
"Of course," I said and smiled. Damian's eyes sparkled. My eyes scanned his face. Right then, I wanted to kiss him. I had to admit, I was dying to taste his lips. I then remembered that I was being watched and I was still at work. I caught myself and looked around Chica's. Mindy was standing by John. They both stared at me. "We'll talk more after my shift," I whispered and separated from Damian. He walked over to John and Mindy and sat next with them. Mindy winked at me. I just smiled again and looked over at John. He wasn't too thrilled with Damian even being at the same restaurant as us. I bit my lip and started finishing up my tables.
Nine came around. I was so happy. My manager, Suzie, told Mindy and I we could leave. When we joined Damian and John, the atmosphere was uncomfortable. John didn't look at Damian, let alone talk to him. Damian just kept his eyes on me. John continuously leered at Damian with every passing second. I just glared at him.
"Well, I hope you got to know Damian better, John," I said to break the silence between them. Damian's eyes showed some emotion I couldn't make out exactly. John just nodded. You are just a rude baby, John. Get over Damian. I thought to myself and rolled my eyes.
"Well, I better go," Mindy said and we all told her goodbye, "bye, Damian." She winked. I almost pounced on her. Damian just smiled sweetly and nodded. John rolled his eyes.
"Well, Damian I'll see you in a little bit?" I turned to him, ignoring John's nostrils flare.
"Yes, I shall meet you at your house." I couldn't resist Damian charm. I held in my giggle and nodded.
"John, I'll talk to you later?"
"Yea," he said and got up. He trudged out the doors. I grimaced and turned back to Damian, who was then standing up inches away from me.
"He does not like me very much, hmm?"
'I'm sorry. He's... overprotective."
"That is okay. Now, I am going to follow you home just to make sure you get there safely. Your parents are not home yet."
"Alright. I'll see you at my house," I said and he nodded sweetly. I left Chica's and got into my car. Most of the way home I watched Damian drive behind me. His engine was a little softer than before, it wasn't as threatening. I was really falling for Damian.
When I got to my house, I made sure my car doors were locked. Damian had parked at down the street a little, I guess so my parents wouldn't come home and freak out that a Lamborghini was parked in my parkinglot and me not knowing whose it was. I wouldn't be able to tell them about Damian. I had to make sure him and my parents never met. I didn't want any trouble.
I entered my house and turned on my livingroom lights. Coco was waiting for me by the door. She leaped and barked as I scratched her. My parents still weren't home. I walked past her up to my room. Damian wasn't behind me. I didn't know where he was. I entered my room and put my keys on my desk. He wasn't in my room either. I rubbed my head. Well, he'll be in here soon probably. I wonder what he is doing. I looked down at my outfit. I had on jeans and a tight, black shirt, as usual. I didn't need to change, but I did need to straighten-up my room. I sighed and quickly grabbed anything on the floor and either threw it into the garbage or under my bed somewhere. I made my bed as neatly as I could. Just as I finished, I spun around and Damian was standing in front of me. I gasped and jumped back.
"Oh, I am sorry, Angie," he said with his soft voice. I had to catch my breath.
"It's okay," I said laughing a bit. He smiled at me as his wonderful eyes sparkled. We stared at each other for a while. I didn't know what to do, so I stood there. His eyes just flickered around my face, so he didn't move either. I wanted to touch his face. My heart was beating rapidly again. Damian looked down at my chest, then took a small step back.
"Calm down," he whispered in a soft, relaxing voice. I was calm.
"I am," I whispered and closed my eyes. Then, I felt his cold finger under my chin. It pulled my chin up and I looked at him. The coldness of his skin made me more and more alert. I wasn't relaxed anymore.
"Cold, huh?" I nodded slowly. He pulled his hand away.
"One of the unfortunate characteristics of vampires. No heartbeat, no warmth, equals cold skin."
"So you really don't have one?"
"No," Damian said and grabbed my hand. He took a breath and put my hand over his chest. His chest was very hard and had absolutely no warmth. I felt nothing. Then, he let my hand go after a few seconds.
"You are too warm," he said and I cocked my head. "Your warm skin. It is so warm. You are... filled with blood and your beating heart. Forgive me, to a vampire, it is most tempting," he said and I wrinkled my nose. It was hard for me to accept. I forgot vampires were like that. All they cared about was blood. I hoped Damian wasn't like that.
"You... can resist can't you?" I couldn't believe I was saying that. I looked away from Damian. I looked at my hands--at my red nails.
"I will have to," he said. I looked up at him, his eyes were serious.
"Is it hard?"
"Yes." His voice showed disappointment. I didn't know what to say. He took another step back.
"Your smell..." he said. I rubbed my head with my hand. I couldn't believe what I got myself into. I totally forgot about my blood, my smell. I had read it one-thousand times in numerous places about how vampires could never resist the smell of blood. But that was when I thought vampires weren't real. I never knew I would actually meet one and he would be fighting not to kill me.
"Damian, you can resist," was all I would say. I looked over at him, he shook his head and nodded. You're right. You will have to resist.
"How long can you stay here?"
"I can leave as soon as you want me to," he said. I shook my head and smiled.
"I don't want you to leave." Damian's eyes sparkled. I walked over and sat on my bed. He sat in my computer chair again.
"Do you have any idea when your parents are coming back home?"
"Nope. But they should be home soon. They've been gone ever since I got home."
"Well, maybe I should meet them," he said and smirked. My eyes widened.
"Well, I don't think it is the right time. I don't know what my dad will say about you. My mom will probably love you. But my dad is sort of overprotective, like John." I laughed. Damian flashed his perfect teeth. I looked at them, then back into his eyes.
"So do you have fangs?" I had to ask. Damian looked at my strangely, then nodded slowly. "Can I see them?" His eyes widened.
"I do not think right now is the right time. Maybe another day."
"Alright," I unwillingly agreed.
For the next hour. Damian and I talked about tons of things. I found out so much more about him. He loved art. He had been painting for one-hundred years. He was 226-years old. He had been living in the "Ascunzătoare" for most of his vampire life. When he was change at age nineteen, he was part of the war between vampires, werewolves, and humans. At that time, he told me he was a monster. Nothing controlled him. He ran loose around the country killing both humans and werewolves. That part scared me. He told me he had no way of controlling himself. Being a new vampire, the smell of blood was desired far more than the Forbidden Fruit to Adam and Eve. The taste of blood was all he cared about. He could kill anyone in his path just to get it. And when he would come across one human whose blood was far more appetizing to him, he would hunt the human and suck them dry. That part made me nervous also.
When he was changed, he killed his own parents. They were the first to by killed by him. When he told me that, I could see in his eyes that he greatly regretted it. He hated himself for it. Damian could barely tell me about it. But he still continued. He had three little sisters that were killed as well. He killed one of them, the other two escaped but were changed by another vampire. He hadn't seen them since.
During the war, vampires were freshly released by Dracula. Yes, Dracula existed. He was the first vampire who lived in Romania. He had created these creatures to follow after him, and in 1447 he released them to the world. Starting in Romania, vampires started invading Hungary, Turkey, Italy, everywhere. And to further complicate things, Damian revealed to me werewolves were real. I could hardly believe that. But after finding out about him, I had to believe him.
A few years after Dracula released his vampires, werewolves started invading. Nobody knew who started the werewolves, or where they started. But it was thought that they started someone around where Antarctica was. An outbreak in werewolves continued up to where South America and North America were. Once most of them were in North America, they usually stayed there. Damian didn't know why, but when they were there. Then, the some vampires made their way into North America. They hated each other at first sight.
"Werewolves are nothing but barbaric dogs who need a shock collar," Damian said. I was surprised about how much he despised them.
Werewolves were immediately thought to be enemies. A war broke out between vampires and werewolves. The humans, were used to recruit more soldiers for both vampires and werewolves. The humans were not happy about it. So they pulled themselves into the war, fighting both races. So all vampires, werewolves, and humans hated each other. The human species was almost wiped out. The war lasted for a few hundred years.
"Just before the humans were extinct, our vampire leader, Mathias Tobin, made a truce with the werewolf leader, Zane Caligari. Thus, ending the war. They both agreed that it was nonsense to fight and attempt to destroy each other's races since the only race they were destroying was the humans. Mathias wanted humans to be available for new superior vampires in the future. So the humans were left alone and they covered up any history of the war and existence of vampires and werewolves. Both races left North America and left into the 'Ascunzătoare' where they would work together. But Mathias was not willing to share anything with Zane. The werewolves and vampires still did not trust each other. So, Mathias killed Zane. Since the werewolves had no leader, their only options were to fall slaves to the vampires or die. To this day, they are still slaves of the vampires. Neither race is allowed out of the Ascunzătoare. Mathias fears if anyone gets out, they will start changing humans again and make more werewolves. Not even vampires are allowed out." Damian's face was hard and serious.
"I left about a year ago. I hated staying in that place. No freedom. The only animals we could hunt were little arctic creatures. I managed to escape one night when the guards were not paying attention. I leaped over those tall, brick walls as quickly as I could and ran into the cold, snowy forest. I came to America since I was born here. That's how I found you. I saw you one night when you were driving home from work about a year ago. You smelled so nice..." Damian stopped. I was still trying to get over his story. I looked at him and wrinkled my nose.
"So that is why vampires and werewolves are played to be extinct? To hide your existence?"
"Yes, it was agreed that humans would never meet with vampires or werewolves again. If the government found out a few escaped, they would not be happy. They would hunt us down, themselves. And being the year 2008, I am sure they have the technology to kill us off. It would be a challenge."
"Wow. That is pretty intense," I said and rubbed my hands together. It all was hard to accept, I was trying to get the story right in my head.
"Yes." I stared at Damian. By the end of his story he had inches his chair closer and closer to me until we stared at each other a foot apart. "Afraid of me yet?" Damian said and smiled.
"Nope. You are not a monster."
"I was. It could be unleashed at any moment. Being away from humans so long, being around them again brings back those feelings sometimes."
"You are not a monster."
"I sure hope not," Damian said and paused. I watched him closely, analyzing his facial expression and reaction. I looked into his eyes, then down to his cheekbones. Then lips. His pale lips were lovely.
"I cannot kiss you," he laughed softly. My eyes widened and shot back up to his.
"I wasn't going to kiss you," I said. I thought about it, but I wasn't going to.
"You wanted to," he laughed again. I blushed and sighed.
"No I didn't," I crossed my arms and puffed air out of my mouth. He smirked.
"Yes you did. I know you did. It is okay, I would kiss you, but I do not know how it would make me feel. I have to practice keeping myself calm around you first," he whispered.
"Alright," I couldn't argue with him. I looked back at him through the corner of my eye. He was looking out the window. "What is it?" I listened closely and heard someone pull into my driveway.
"Your parents are home. By the sound of their voices, they seem to be in happy moods."
"You can hear them?"
"Yes, vampires have extraordinary hearing." Duh, you're stupid, Angie. You knew that. I looked back at him, hoping he wouldn't say he was leaving.
"I must go now." Dang! My heart sank and I lowered my head.
"Do you have to?"
"Yes, unless you would like them to meet me," his smile was irresistible. I wanted him to stay. My jaw tightened. I thought long and hard for a response. I heard the front door open and Coco barking downstairs.
"Alright," I said and stood up. I walked to my door and opened it. Damian walked behind me. I opened my door slowly and listened to my parents talking downstairs. Damian grabbed the door and opened it as I stepped out and walked the hallway. Then, I heard him move quickly behind me and I spun around. A deep snarl rumbled in the air. I looked around, Damian was gone. I ran back to my room.
"Damian?" I tried to calm my voice to a whisper. Damian was standing in my room, his hands clenched in fists. "Damian, what's wrong?"
"Why does your house smell like dog, Angie?" His voice was trembling. My eyes were wide as I saw his struggle to contain himself.
"I have a dog, Coco."
"No, Angie. Your house smells like mutt!" He tried not to yell too loudly. His face was hard and his eyes were not longer grey. They were black. I saw no color in them, only black.
"What do you mean? I have a dog, Damian."
"Angie! Your house smells like werewolf! Why?" He ran up to me and grabbed my arms. I looked up into his dark eyes. I was frightened. What?
"It smells like werewolf? I don't know, Damian! Let me go," I yelled and closed my eyes tightly.
"You are human, there is no way you are a werewolf I would have smelled it on you already." He let me go and walked into the hallway. I stood there, baffled. Then, he came running back in and closed the door.
"Angie, your parents--"
"What about my parents," I whispered. I was still shocked at what was happening.
"It is your parents. Your parents are werewolves, Angie. Did you know about this? Tell me if you knew about this!" Damian looked at me with fierce eyes.
"How are they werewolves, Damian? They are my parents!"
"No, they are not. You are not a werewolf. If they were your true parents, you would be a werewolf, too. They are not your parents," Damian said and spun around and walked out of my room.
"Damian stop," I tried to whisper and grab his arm. He stopped and looked at me.
"These people are werewolves! They are not allowed out of the Ascunzătoare! They are here for a reason! I am going to find out. Angie, they could be dangerous," he said and stormed down the stairs. I grabbed him again and pulled his hard body as hard as I could back to me. He stopped and turned to face me. "Angie, please let me go. These werewolves are here for a reason. They could be here to kill both of us. Please, let me go." Damian's dark eyes were frightening. It was all happening too fast.
"Just wait a second! This is all too much!" I grabbed my ears and held my head. My eyes shut tightly as I tried to clear my thoughts. Damian grabbed my shoulders.
"Stay by me. Do not leave my side," he said and pulled me with him down the stairs. We turned into the kitchen and I saw my parents. They looked at us both with wide eyes. My dad stood up quickly from his chair and backed up next to my mom.
"Who are you," Dad snarled as my mom growled deeply in her throat. "Angie! Get away from him," Dad yelled, but Damian pulled me tight next to him. I wouldn't have been able to escape his grasp if I tried. I was stuck next to him.
"Why are you not in the Ascunzătoare," he yelled. My parents grimaced. My mom's eyes flickered between Damian and I. Dad's eyes never left Damian's.
"Angie, get away from him!" Dad leaped towards us. Damian pulled me quickly behind him and Dad stopped suddenly. He stared at us.
"Why are you not in the Ascunzătoare," he yelled again. There was a long pause as I looked at them from behind Damian. I gripped his black shirt tightly in my hand. I didn't know what to do.
"Give us our daughter and we can talk about this like civilized people," Dad said. My mom just stared at me. I pleaded to her with my eyes to say something, but she only looked at me.
"We are not people to begin with, and I will never hand her over to you. You are nothing but a couple of mutts!" Loud growls filled the kitchen. Damian's body shook and my Dad leaned forward--ready to pounce. I watched him closely. He bore his teeth and snarled behind them. He wasn't my dad anymore.
"Why are you not in the Ascunzătoare," Dad asked.
"That is none of your business. I do not have to answer to you. You are slaves to my kind, werewolf. I think you forget your place. Veţi obay mine, Dog." Another roar broke out in the kitchen. I shuttered behind Damian. He reached back and wrapped his hard arm around my waist.
"Ah, I am surprised you still know the language after so long. You think you are so superior. Your filthy, blood-sucking leader killed Zane, and you think that makes you all mighty, Leech?" Dad growled and Damian shook with anger. He roared and hissed at my dad. I looked down at Damian's arms. His fingers were sprawled out. His long, razor-sharp claws were bare and ready to thrash though anything.
"Tell me now why you are here, you stand no chance against me and you know it. Now speak, Dog!" My parents looked back from Damian to me. Mom's face was hard and tense, I've never seen her like that. My dad though, was even more scary than before.
"We were hired to raise Angela," Mom finally said in a sneer. Damian's body tensed. He let me go but remained to stand in front of me.
"By who," Damian asked. Dad smiled and looked at me.
"I think you both know him," Dad said. My eyes widened.
"Alexander," Damian growled. My eyes widened. I couldn't believe anything that was going on. It was too much. Please, no. My parents nodded.
"But he did nott know about Angie until recently. How could he hire you eighteen years ago?"
"Alexander has been our master for centuries. He ordered Dallore and I to adopt human babies and raise them a certain way. Once they would reach a certain age, we would give them to him and he would make them his own and use their special abilities to his advantage."
"What did you give Angie," Damian asked slowly. My eyes widened as I awaited Dad's response.
"This one is our fifth experiment. We chose to raise her up as a shy, sweet girl. But if ever changed, she would be turned into a total monster, sparing nobody in her path of destruction. She would be unstoppable," Dad snickered. Damian turned and looked at me through the corer of his eye. I grabbed his shirt even tighter.
"Her mind is set to be calm. Once she is changed, the venom with spark the other side of her mind and unleash its beast. Quite a simple procedure actually. And of course, Alexander was very interested in her when he found this out." Damian's body shook. He grabbed my waist tightly and squeezed me.
"You are lying."
"We both know I'm not," Dad squinted. No, he wasn't my dad anymore, my mom wasn't my mom anymore. Her name was, Dallore. A werewolf who turned me into a monster. I can't be a monster inside! I'm not violent in any way! I could hear Coco barking outside in the silence in the kitchen.
"I am taking her away from here. Alexander will never take her!"
"Oh, I think you are wrong. He is on his way right now." My mouth dropped. Damian's body froze and tightened. He spun around and grabbed my arm with one hand, and pulled me towards him with the other. Then, he yanked me to follow him as we ran to the front door. But the man who I thought was my father jumped in front of it with a loud thud. Damian stopped dead in his tracks and made sure his grip around me was tight.
"How dare you step to a vampire," Damian roared and slipped his arm from around me. He pounced on the man. Loud roaring and hissing filled the room and my head. I covered my ears and turned around. Dallore was staring at me. I gasped and she grabbed me.
"Damian," I screamed and looked back at him fighting. The man he was fighting, was no man anymore. He was a huge dog standing on its hind legs. The werewolf stood up to about my ceiling. Silver Damian was easy to see next to the werewolf's black fur. He spun and looked at me. The next thing I knew he was right next to me. He bit into Dallore and took me from her. She howled loudly, her mouth wide open and her teeth bare. Her skin burned and turned to ash as I saw her body disintegrate right before my eyes to nothing but a pile of black. I screamed and felt Damian's body under me moving. I heard a door swing open and slam shut. I clamped my eyes shut and hung onto Damian with all my strength.
"Hold on, Angie," he said. I didn't move from my clinging position. I heard a door open and Damian pulled my off of him. My cramped fingers clenched to his shirt.
"It is okay, Angie," He said and pulled my fingers from his shirt quickly. I heard loud howling. It sounded like, howling of anguish? Pain? Anger? It was sour and had a high pitch to it. I can't believe this is happening! I heard another door open and slam shut. A car engine roared to life in front of me. I opened my eyes slowly. I was sitting in Damian's car. He shifted the car into drive and stomped on the gas. We were up to ninety in a few seconds.
