Just another day

watercolour castle
swimming in the aching air
cartoon constructions
stark and bare

a paint smear whisper
in the sharp daylight
and headache hum
of restless night

just another day

old forgotten picnic party
spread out on the grass
warm in summer sun
now frozen frosted needles

old friends and new
gathered and collected
digitised and filed
and stapled in

just another day

with a muscle clam shout
and sideboard slide
the pictures filter and float
through haze morning
into the silent tomorrow

and light shimmers
into sunlight
into drift cloud shine
and shafts of gold
bird swoop and crow cackle calling.
