First Love

FIRST LOVE.
Why this ache this anxiousness?
As if I could lose You, lover of my soul.
Darkness is as light to You,
My rock, my life my goal.
The honey from the rock,
That I know to be Your presence,
Your eyes on mine, eternity's promise.
In the watches of the night I meditate,
On the greatness of your love,
I sense there is a passion that
My heart has never known.
You are the pearl of great price,
That I would sell everything to buy,
My rock, my goal my life.
You precious, precious lover,
I die to see Your face,
I will worship now no other,
I have tasted of Your grace.
Emmanuel, the prince of peace,
I will love You, `more than these`.
`Sweet Jesus`, while the world's content to mock,
My goal, my life my rock.
