Loving this New Music!

When I first believed,
I realised there was a point to nature.
While watching a circling gull,
Over the edge of the North Sea,
Seaton Sluice near Whitley Bay,
There was someone to thank for the contrasts.
The sea vast, grey-green, flecked with white,
The gull became my mind.
Soaring then buffeted by these elements.
The rasping chill breezes and aching distant horizon,
And the need for integration,
Nature and creator.
When You first entered my mind,
Hindsight made me grieve past solitude.
The loneliness of the naked soul,
Unable to comprehend the enormity of this one in a trillion
universe.
I loved You invading my heart,
First understood in worship.
I wrote songs,
Spoke in the face of cold indifference,
Of Your undeserved grace,
While all the time longing for a glimpse of Your face.
In traffic choked towns,
Grit-dusted and desolate,
In the queues where rain-soaked, we steam and stamp and wait,
The eternal wait for transports home,
So many people avoiding potential contact.
I pray the silent prayer of gratitude,
Of one who is known by You,
Your silent mystery,
My own insanity when faith wanders.
When the trees are bending,
And clouds are racing somewhere else.
When even urban skylines cannot conceal the blood-red sky.
I will prove You to my soul, through the constant revelations of my
frailty,
The so-obvious need of Your mercy,
While in our present twilight,
The veil remains intact, for those waiting to be born.
