DESERT HEARTS

Desert Hearts
The heat of the pharaohs in the valley is unforgettable
The thought of you in the summer sun fills my mind
The sweet smell in the air of love was unmistakable
Not once in those days did you leave my side.
Walking hand in hand towards the evenings red sky
The moonlit reflections of desert mountains on the Nile
The scent of your skin left me on an all time high
We were lovers that set out in romantic style.
Two hearts that beat as one under a dying star
We danced a secret pirouette on a silent night
The candlelit closeness of a silhouetted restaurant bar
Where the distant music echoed until the dawning light.
Taking tea at sunrise with my lady of elegance
We sailed upon our floating tapestry of time and space
We were both drawn together by hope and circumstance
Making our dreams and plans upon that river of grace.
Over the Kings and Queens we took our heavenly ride
From a floating distance we relived those ancient lives
You were my beautiful companion and my innocent bride
And like those wondrous temples our love still survives.
Forever those golden days will stay close by my side
But never will I be saddened for I know that each day
Will begin with a kiss from my heavenly chosen bride
And close to my heart forever and a day she will stay.
