Trees keep their secrets like we can't
Long after we are dead they stand up tall
Silently growing, strengthening, spreading
Watching solidly as we fluctuate, rise and fall
Trees cling to each other like we don't
Huddling in gangs with strong high branches
Patiently sending themselves to heaven
Gossiping in groups and mocking error
Trees know instinctively what we don't
How cold it is going to be, when rain will fall
Keeping one another notified, tuned in, their knowledge spreads
Secretly, tearfully glistening in their light dewy pall
