I wanted to call this story by SO many titles, but I could not choose what title to give it, so instead, for the titles that I wanted to name it, I will put those, should be titles in CAPITALS.
Yesterday, at very short notice my manager Stephen asked me to work away from home, when I know in advance that I will be working away from home, I put certain, things as I remember them, in my home away, work bag. Two of the things that I must include in my working away from home bag, is my reading glasses, for when I am writing on ABC and my diary! My diary is even more important than my reading glasses! I had remembered to put my reading glasses in my bag, but discovered very late last night that I had forgotten to pack my diary.
Yesterday morning at about 10am, I was blowing my nose, and as always, when there is so much snot in, I have tried to be careful, blowing one nostril, and then the other, not both together, so I had made sure one was closed, each time. At times, we realize just how fragile we are, for as I blew and blew, I must have gone too far, and it seemed, that I pulled a muscle in my neck! Oh, the sudden pain! But there was no going back! It was, also the day that I had felt the best I’d been from my recover from the flu, and now I had to go and do this. For not only had I felt like I had pulled a muscle in my neck, it had left me feeling light headed. Paul was in the room when it happened, and I told him about the sudden pain I just experienced and that I felt light headed. Four hours later, my manager asked me, “Can you go and work away at site number one, as Shona is of sick?” I replied, to his text, “Yes, no problem.” I told Paul, who knew I was still in pain and feeling light headed. He said, “Don’t go, you don’t feel well.” I said, “I will be OK,” He knew, there was nothing worse, than not feeling 110% when you are away from home, as nothing beats your own bed.
At work, there was an, ACCIDENTAL MEETING, I met a man in a professional setting. I remember seeing something on social media, this week and I thought it was an April the first joke, it was about glue that women put on their faces, and I honestly thought I had seen and heard everything there was to see and hear. But no, it was not an April the first joke, but reality.
This man that I met, we got talking, and the things that he said, shocked me, but as I got to know him, I was truly amazed by him.
During the course of our conversation, he talked about his hobbies, he said, “I have many,” He told me that he has a, “Huge workshop, in his home in the countryside,” There he does, amongst other things, “Metalwork and woodwork.” I told him, “I did woodwork at school and loved it, I used to know all the different names for screws, and saws etc.” He went on, “I also make my wife’s clothes,” WOW! Now that’s a skill I would love to have! He said, “I even handmake all her BRAS.” I said, “Now that is a first, for me, I have never met anyone who can do that, for throughout history woman have struggled to find the right fitting bra, until they find the ‘right’ one, even then, it is not perfect.” I went on, “My cousins’ daughters are all large ladies, I am sure none of them can buy their bras off the shelf, they must be specially made for them, or ordered on-line.” I went on, “If you decided to do that as a living, you would do very well!”
I was very impressed with him, he asked me, “Do you have any hobbies?” I said, “Yes, I used to sell clothes that I tied and dyed, around England, at huge craft events, including Stratford-upon-Avon, and I also write a diary every single day from the age of 19, until today, and I am in my 60’s.” He said, “I wished I had done, that, for that is something I would have loved to have done.” I said, “I have met so many people who have wished the same thing.” He said, “We all need an outlet,” That then reminded me, of another hobby that I love, and I said, “I also write on ABC Tales,” I gave him my writers name on there, he said, “I will have a look.” Then he got on to the subject of religion. He seemed to be very knowledgeable on the subject, but so am I. He said something that shocked me, that I had not ever heard before. He started to talk about false prophets, he said, “Paul in the Bible was a false prophet.” He was talking about one of my favourite men in the Bible, when I read about him, he changed my life, so much so that his name is my favourite boy’s name, ever. He went on, “Paul came 30 years after Jesus, and preached his own message, he didn’t agree with anything that Jesus said.” I said, “I disagree with you.” He went on, he said, “There is no hell, only Heaven” My reply to that is always the same, “So, every paedophile, is going to Heaven?” He said, “How do you think you get to Heaven?” I replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, confess Him to be Lord, and you will be Saved.” He said.” He said, “Have you read other parts of the Bible that is not in the Bible?” I replied, “God said, not to add anything to the Bible and do not take anything away from it.” I carried on, “I believe the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation.”
Then he went back to talking about Paul, and his JOURNEY. I said, “Don’t let Paul be a distraction for you, or a stumbling block, forget about Paul.” But he couldn’t, I said, all this debate, I think you have got too much knowledge you need to KISS, which means to Keep It Simple Stupid.” Then he dropped a bombshell and said, “I used to be a Priest!” MERCY! I was genuinely shocked. I said, to him, “So you went to Church before?” He answered, “Yes.” I said, “Do you go now?” He said, “No, but there are a lot of people who believe the same as me, about Paul been a false prophet.” I said, “Well if you feel so strongly about it, your religious views, why don’t you start your own church?”
We had met before, when he came to our work, then he said, “I am glad I have got to know you more, and I don’t want us to fall out,” I said, “No I like a debate, not as much as when I was very young, I don’t debate much now, but I am used to deep debates with my Husband and brother William.”
It was just myself and him in the large building, and in the distance, I could hear an unknown, low alarm, it troubled me, as I didn’t know where in the building it was coming from, and I knew he was about to leave. I said, “I need to go to the office, to make sure everything is OK on the alarm panels,” He came with me, I unlocked the door to the office, and all was well. He said to me, “I came with you, to make sure you were safe,” I thought, what a lovely, caring man, who if I had to give him a name here, as I wouldn’t use his real name, I have decided to call him PAUL. What a Great Name. x
