I had met Dora’s parents and brother, they were lovely. Her dad was a very successful man. After he retired, he had given her his car. Dora explained to me, that the car, was very special, and with that word, I can’t remember the word, it meant the old car was of another level to the other cars with the same name. That word, made it to be thousands of pounds more than most cars. It was large and had beautiful leather inside. She was very humble and nothing went to her head, not even this car. Shortly after she had the car, she came outside one day, and saw just the steering wheel on the road, where she had parked it. It was stolen to order.
I remember Dora was in the local papers, she had done something amazing, in the community and they had 2 special thank you parties in her honour the one party I was invited to, the mayor was there, he spoke about Dora for about fifteen minutes, lots of other very important people were there from the Town, most of them also spoke about Dora. I was very impressed and very proud of my friend. After there was a beautiful buffet. The second party to honour her, no one from the general public was allowed, it was only for VIP’s.
When she and her husband and child moved to far away, years later, Dora set up a charity. I won’t go into any details, just to say it is a charity to help the venerable. The charity is very successful. Dora was honoured for that charity too.
This year her husband informed us that Dora was unwell. Dora had told me that in a WhatsApp text, but I didn’t quite understand the text. So, we were all shocked when her husband Richard told us what had happened. Dora and I still kept in contact via WhatsApp, but not very often. Weeks later, Richard announced that Dora had died! Everyone, including myself, were shocked! Lots of people, flooded social media, with their condolences. Friends who were not on social media, sent me their condolences to me, to pass them on to Richard. I passed them all on to Richard, who then filled me in in a private text that he asked me to share. In it he said what had happened.
This close friend of mine dying brought it all home to me. I saw death in a different way.
There are many ways to die. A person can live to be over 100 and die with his or her family at the bedside. Another person can die, very young, still another can die very slowly, or in a second unexpectedly! The worst death has to be murder! The grief of the loved ones, how they must feel, knowing because of someone’s evil actions, the one they love is no more, and if there is no justice or nothing that matched what the murder has done, then their pair will be deep. Another death is to never find their remains.
Another thing that I thought about when I heard that Dora had died, was what is she doing right now? I decided to let my mind wonder, for everyone has different beliefs. Some people believe that when they die, that is it, there is nothing, forever. Another person will believe that, they will come back to this Earth in a different form like an animal, or into a different body. They think that if they have been good, they will have another nice life here on Earth and if they have been bad, they will come back as not nice. Each to his own, ideas and thoughts, I don’t believe any of the above. I believe there is a cloud of Witness, cheering us on, they are not in Heaven, they are in Paradise, Heaven will be their eternal home after The Judgement Day. Hebrews Chapter 12 Verse 1. (From the Holy Bible).
The thief on the Cross, said to Jesus, “LORD remember me, when you come into your Kingdom,” And Jesus said to him, “Today you will be with me in Paradise.” Two thieves on the cross, both with nothing to lose. One went to Paradise the other didn’t. I know where I would want to go, if I had nothing to lose.
I then let my mind wonder again, that Dora had now arrived in Paradise. Her spirit will be very much alive, and she will see friends and loved ones there, who have died this year, that we both knew. She will see her parents and Sian who die during covid. She will be in no more pain. Now that will be a real comfort to Richard.
Death is our final enemy. First Corinthians Chapter 15 verse 26. From the Holy Bible.
I realized that the last time that I saw Dora was 10 years ago at the McDonalds restaurant. I wished I knew that, I would have given her a longer hug.
Rest in Peace D. xXx
