So, at work today, Mo mentioned the jewellery heist in France, and I said, “Yes I heard about it,” And added the jewellery that was taken was priceless,” He said, “No, it has now been valued at 76 million pounds.” I said, “They will break it all up,” Mo said, “No I think the rich man went and saw it and chose what he wanted and paid someone to get it for him.” I said, “OK, put it this way, can you imagine, if he paid you 20 million to get it for him, where could you hide the money, so that no one would suspect it is you?” Mo said, “I would pay family and friends, but my Mum would not want it, for she would call it dirty money.” I added, “You would not be able to spend it.” Mo thought about it for a moment, and said, “I would not come to work,” I said, “For how long would you stay away?” He said, “One week.” I said, “And then you would come back to work?” He said, “No, really I would have to leave the country the next day, but that would look suspicious.”
Mo said, “I heard recently that the police can look into your bank account,” I said, “Yes I believe that is true.” He seemed a bit stumped then, as to what he would do next.
I said, to him, “When I was growing up, my favourite genre of film was always the jewellery heist, or the painting taken from the art gallery.” Mo said, “Then you have got to watch on Netflix, Money Heist and the top film at the moment is Lupin.” I said, “I have not heard of either, but I will settle down and watch both with Meghan,” I added, “But the time will have to be right, as I usually fall asleep.”
Mo said, “The thing with the film Lupin, is that it is very similar to the real jewellery heist!” I said, “Really?” He said, “Yes, there are lots of similarities, but one was done in four minutes and the other was done in just six.” I said, “Do you think the person got the idea from the film?” He said, “I don’t know, but he could have?” I said, “So, it seems the film gave him the idea to do it?” He said, “Yes.”
