It Is That Time Of The Year Again. Part One

I have bought mine. I bought four as I always lose at least three of them. A lot of people don’t know that you can put any amount in the tin, it hasn’t got to be a set minimum amount. I learnt that from when I was at school, many moons ago.
I bought my four from my local petrol station. I couldn’t find where to put my money. I said to the cashier, “Where do I put the money?” She replied, “Sadley we have to keep it with us behind the glass.” I said, “That’s a shame,” As she took it, still chained to the unit, putting it just under the glass, so that she still was holding on to most of it. It was sad indeed, that something SO important, people steal!
Back in my car, I added the four of them on my large long dashboard, there they would stay, one to show passersby, of my support and two, they were ready for me to pin on to my top of the day.
I went to work the next day, and only ONE person was wearing one, and later as we walked around the Town, we were in the minority. How times have changed.
Sadly, it seems even This is now political! Everything seems now to be political, even religion!
So, because it has now become political, most people now don’t wear their Poppy with Pride!
They have forgotten the price people paid, with their lives, the loss, those who never came back home, old and many young. They have taken for granted Freedom! They have forgotten those who came back home maimed and damaged in mind and spirit.
There is not many alive now, if any.
Rest in Peace to all. I will always wear my Poppy with Pride. x
