MUM.

Around the world there are amazing camera men and women, those who take photos or videos. They bring the before unseen world right to our attention.

I have a newspaper cutting of a young girl, from a small village not in England. The girl has mental health and they in the village have left her in the sun, naked with a chain around her neck. The thick heavy chain is about 2 yards long. I read her story and cried. Before I got to the end of the article, I knew that I would give money to set her free. This is not something I ever do; I would give what I could not even afford, I knew that all the readers together, would send in enough money to help her. When I got to the end of the story, she was already dead. I was gutted! She had died there on the hard floor outside.

Many years ago, I saw a video, I could not believe my eyes. For at first my mind could not comprehend what it was that I was looking at. It was frozen whatever it was. Slowly as it was heated up, to defrost it, it was a large dog that was skin and bone! When I say skin and bone, it was like a Skelton with fur. Eventually the dog was defrosted, and amazingly it was still alive, but just. From been alive, it was slowly fed small amounts of food, I saw his progress until he was once again healthy normal weight and running around in the garden of his new home. It was absolutely amazing!

Today I saw a video it was a dead cat by the side of the road, blooded nose, stretched right out with eyes wide open. There were three kittens near her body. That was one saving grace, that her kittens stayed close to her, it wasn’t for warmth or milk, but I suppose they didn’t know where else to go. So, they instinctively     stayed with their Mum.

As the car pulls up to them, the vet gets out and goes up to her, she has come prepared with her vet’s bag. The vet pressed on her heart, over and over again, but there it nothing. The vet put her little arms open and close, but there is nothing, the vet puts tiny drops of liquid in her mouth, but there is nothing. The vet puts a tiny mask on her little face, and what looks like steam is coming out of the mask, from a tube to a container. Still nothing, no sign of life. All I can think is, why waste time? How long has she been dead? I assume she had been hit by a car. I thought, if this was a human, IF she was to make it, to wake up after all that time, she would be brain damaged.

The vet continued to do chest compressions; the cat was still dead! The vet often listened to her heartbeat, or where it should be. Then the vet shaved her front leg and put a needle into it, to drip liquid directly into her veins.

The liquid was then tried again into her mouth. The chest compressions were done again, and very slowly, breathing could be seen at her ribcage!

The vet then picked her up still eyes wide open and put her in a blanket, and rushed her to the hospital.

The cat was then cleaned, with wet wipes, on her blooded nose, her eyes, her ears, and teats, I remember thinking, couldn’t they have done that before? But no life was more important than a grubby body, for what would be the point of trying to clean her up. It was done in the right order.

Slowly she improved and in the last part of the video mum is well and eating with her three kittens! It was amazing, one of the best back-to-life videos I have ever seen! Some cats DO have nine lives. The vet is amazing, she never gave up!
