The Olden Days.
The workmen, they are doing roadworks on our road this week, they gave us full notice, so all our cars were removed. The road looks fantastic! The work is due to finish this week.
This morning, I had horrible flashback of when I was young.
As I cleaned this morning there was a power cut! It brought back lots of memories, then the lights and power came back on, only for the power to go off again! When the power first went off, I was charging my mobile, when it came back on, I also charged my watch!
Thankfully the power both times was not off for long, so items in the freezer did not spoil.
I then noticed that the water coming out of the tap was brown! In the past, we would have had a letter in the post, or the workmen would have knocked our door and told us, so it came as a bad surprise!
Meghan came home from work; I told her about the water.
Meghan googled it, and what to do. We ran the kitchen water, for 40 minutes, the washing machine and dish washer must not be used. The bath water must not be used either.
I had over the years, have bought many bottled water and I keep them in our bedroom, Hall and in my car!
I got a bottle of evian, it should have been six in a pack, but it was cheaper as one was missing, I poured some of it, into the kettle, and made Meghan and myself a nice cup of tea.
I text my manager, and suggested that, “Maybe he should, buy a pack of 6 bottled water,” I explained why, as work is near my home. I half expected my next-door neighbours to come and ask if I had any, “Bottled water.” I was ready to give them some. They didn’t.
Three hours later, the water had run clear.
Meghan, then had her bath. The next time I go to my supermarket, I will see if they have more reduced bottled water, I will buy more. x
