Was getting ready for bed very late last night. The telly was still on, and a documentary had just started. A woman had reported to the police, that she had not, “Heard from her parents.”
When the police went to the house, dinner was being prepared, but there was no sign of the couple.
The home was isolated, and when the police searched nearby, they found the husband wrapped up by the water, he had been stabbed nine times.
They had a few suspects, then the man who they knew was the culprit, they saw him in disguise on the CCTV, using the wife’s bank card.
The man ran away to Luxemburg, he went to a hostel, where there were men who spoke the same language as him.
Thankfully one of the men recognized his face, as wanted, from the newspaper, even though now he had a beard. The police of Luxemburg were informed and he was arrested.
The English detectives went to Luxemburg to get him. He insisted he was not the man they were looking for, he said, “I have never been to England.” Back in England in the car, he said, English slang words, that gave him away.
His mole on his face also gave him away. He kept saying, his name was not what the police thought it was that, “You have the wrong man.”
With all the evidence that was stacked against him, including that he was in a lot of debt. He was sentenced to thirty-five years in jail.
It was sad for the family that their Dad was stabbed to death nine times.
Even worst, the body of their Mum has never been found.
Rest in Peace, Peter, and Sylvia Stuart.
