Want.

I have a lot to thank the reduced section for. Because of that section, I have tried different foods that I would not have, if they hadn’t been reduced again and again.
One of them was Guacamole! At one point it was reduced often, so much so, I ended up loving it, even when I didn’t like or eat avocado!
I still don’t like sushi, nor have I ever tried it, when it is reduced enough, I buy it for my cats and dogs!! It is not something I will ever try.
There are other foods too, that I have tried and loved, because they were reduced.
Something I saw that was reduced recently and it was reduced a lot from £2 to 50p I was going to pass it by, but thought it looked really nice. I read what it said, the ingredients were, it was vegetable based, which is fine by me, as I love a vegetable spring roll or samosa.
I thought by looks alone it should be worth a try and if I saw it reduced again, I would know to buy it. Really, I had nothing to lose.
I had never heard the name of this food item before it was called Wonton. If someone had stopped me on the street with a clipboard and said, “What is a wonton?” I would have to admit I didn’t know, the word was not familiar to me.
There were more than one packs that were reduced, but as it was my first time, I just bought the one pack for 50p.
I read what was inside, seasoned carrot, water chestnut, spring onion, in a crunchy aromatic pastry. The water chestnut did not appeal to me, but it was seasoned, so everything else sounded ‘nice.’
I bought it to take to work, and as it was small it would not be a meal but a snack.
Later in the evening, I decided to try them, I put then in the oven at the time it stated and put them on the plate with some Heinz Salad Cream. I would use the cream as a dip.
I tried the first one, it didn’t seem to have any flavour, it seemed bland! I tried another, I was not impressed, it was not nice at all, I thought well, for it to be worth £2 there must be something special about them.
I ate all that was in the pack. I won’t be buying them ever again. Maybe it is an acquired taste like Marmite.
They did nothing for me; I thought they were horrible. I suppose, for someone who was a very fussy eater when I was young, I did do good, by at least trying them.
Now I know when I see them again, not to bother, unless there is a meat version, I would try that.
