Wild.
Nanny, Hotel AKA Fat Bloke, his arch enemy Jonathan, Clarence, Cynthia and Mini G.
Those are the names of our 6 cats.
Having animals in your life, teaches us lots about animal behaviour. All 6 they are completely different, just like us humans. They have likes and dislikes with food, places they like to sleep, toys they like to play with, which human’s lap they like to be on, and which cats they like or dislike.
Nanny used to be the boss, but now that she is old, she is not, Clarence has no fear, so he is not scared of Nanny. Jonathan is named after a real person, so we see him as half human, as he is very clever. Mini G is my favourite, and she is the only cat that greets me, each morning and whenever I come home from work or Town. Clarence is Meghan’s favourite. Clarence is also the favourite of our grandson Darius. Clarence would make a great petting cat for a care home for older people. Hotel is not keen on fish but has milk with both of his meal’s morning and teatime, or he won’t eat it! Cynthia is the fluffiest cat we have ever had! And because she is almost white, she has to have a bath now and again and Paul brushes, her often.
When I buy scratching boards for the cats, they all come with catnip. I never usually use the catnip. But last year, I tried a bit on the board and put the rest on a shelf. One of the cats, smelt it from up there and got it down, and when we arrived home, the cats were ‘high’ on the floor, not acting normal at all!
We then left if for a while, and other cats joined them there on the floor, they were SO happy, wild and out of control. Even the stiff upper lip Hotel got in on the act! We had Never seen him like this! It was like a very strong drug. We let the cats enjoy themselves, then after 10 minutes, I swept it up and then to make sure, I mopped the floor.
Paul loves strong coffee, but he wanted to drink less, so he wanted some different types of tea. He does not like Earl Grey. For his Christmas gift I bought him a lovely selection from my favourite shop, I read each package carefully, as there was a wide choice to choose from. I was happy with the ones I bought.
From Christmas Day, Paul has had each day a pot of tea. It made a nice change to see a tea pot. The first one he opened was loose tea.
When that one was finished, he opened another different one.
With this different tea, the little pack of tea, with the tea all sealed in each pack of their individual packs, when opened inside was a teabag with the little string and tag attached.
Last night when I went into the kitchen, there were three cats wriggling around on the floor, one was snuggled up to the used tea bag, taken from the bin, the other cats were wriggling around with the three unopened sealed tea bags in their packets! I took a quick 5 second video to show Paul, he was in the next room.
We did have a clue, because when I had bought my well-chosen goodies, I had put them still in the shopping bag for a few minutes at home on the living room floor, and the cats, they were getting in the bag!
Last night I said to Paul, “It looks like catnip is in your tea!” He picked up the pack and looked at the ingredients, but it was late, so nothing jumped out at him.
I looked on the internet today, and humans can have catnip! In humans it seems amongst other GOOD things, it calms them. So, the opposite to the cats. x
