Chapter 8

Grandma’s  Wish

 

She loved her Grandchildren for years and as the grew she visited them once a week and they always loved to see her . She made gifts for them all with her own hands and bought them new clothes as they were all growing up .

Then something happening that she never expected , out of the blue her daughter in law wanted a divorce and in the awful events that followed she wasn’t able to see her grandchildren .

There wasn’t a day went where she never thought of them and it broke her heart that she wasn’t able to see her grandchildren ,

Her son  was devastated with the separation and his ex-wife’s control over the children . As the years passed the grandchildren rarely contacted their grandmother and their father and just before she passed away the grandmother send all the photos of her grandchildren back to her son .

In that final action it was clear that her grandchildren had finally broken her heart .

On her deathbed she wished that her son would find someone to make him happy and she died knowing the bitterness of losing her grandchildren and the effect of the divorce in her son’s marriage

 

The grandchildren came to the funeral of their grandmother and offered no apology or words of condolence for the loss of their grandmother . As they watched her coffin being carried away into the hearse the gentle voice of their grandmother was heard over the PA system in the church ,

“I love you all so much ”

No one but her grandchildren heard the voice . As her grandchildren returned to their cars they noticed their grandmother standing beside their cars looking at them and waving .There were tears rolling down her face and she said to each of her grandchildren 

“.I’ve missed you all so much and you never once visited or called to say hello .Now I cannot rest at peace and I cannot leave this world because of what you have done “

 

All her grandchildren were shaking with fear and began screaming out . When people came to ask them what was wrong they told them about the ghost of their grandmother but no one there saw anything .The grandchildren were haunted frequently and soon started to age . Their young features started to fade and thei was turning grey .

One by one they ended up in hospital and each of them had a visit from their grandmother who said ,

“ Life is so short , isn’t it sad when you’re young at heart but you look so old and grey and why did you forget to visit me when you had the chance ?”

 

One by one the children passed away from their unexplained sickness that made all too old before their time . At their funeral no one came but their mother who heard the voice of her children grandmother speak over the PA system . 

“Now they are mine and you cannot see them anymore and I cannot rest because of what you have done .“ 

The grandmothers wish came true m her son met a beautiful lady and they lived together happily .

Tommy was always a rebel at heart . He worked alone and answered to no one . His wayward behaviour didn’t help him to make many friends nut that never worried him much as he couldn’t compromise his choices or lifestyle to anyone . He enjoyed living on the wild side .

Now and then he abducted people and collected ransom money in return for their safe return . His loved ones and family never knew where he was or what he was doing .

It came as no surprise when they got a message that he had been shot and killed by the police in London and they had to come and collect his body for burial .

Immediately his two brothers borrowed some money from people and booked a flight to London to bring Tommys body home . When the arrived at the airport the police were already waiting for them and took them into custody to ask questions about their dead brother’s activities . The brothers were bundled into a  car and taken to a secure building outside the city where Tommys body was being kept .

Some Government official was there observing the proceedings . The police had decided to lock the brothers in separate rooms for questioning and were making it very difficult for them to get possession of Tommy’s corpse . There were accusations of his involvement in some criminal activities however the brothers had no information about any of that . They even made suggestions that the brothers were also involved as well which shocked them . Now they could see they were being stitched up for something they never done . So, there they were in a new situation with the possibility of being framed up for some crims and not able to bring their brother home for a funeral . The police stated that Tommy had pulled a gun when they came to arrest him for a break and enter and they had no choice but to shoot him . The brothers never believed that and begged the police to just let them bring Tommy home but the just laughed at their request .

That night in the darkness of a room , Tommy’s spirit was not at rest and his ghost walked the rooms seeking revenge on those who had imprisoned his brothers .

One by one Tommy’s Ghost took revenge . All those who were responsible for imprisoning his brothers were shot with their own guns and removed from the building   .

The two brothers awoke to discover the building empty .There was no one there and all the windows and doors were opened . A coffin with their dead brother was lying on a stand in one of the rooms awaiting its journey home to be laid to rest .

The two brothers borrowed a van that was outside and placed Tommy and the coffin in the back and drove away feeling puzzled and unsure about what was going on but very glad to be free from where they had been .

To avoid any further problems the brothers thought they should make up a story about how their brother had an accident on a building site and made the arrangements to get the body home . Before the plane had flown Toomy’s ghost had  other plans before he would be brough home and laid to rest  .

It was springtime and crowds were gathered around London for different music and flower events . Those kinds of things were always Tommy’s  hobby horses ; He often liked to do some pick pocketing and trouble making when most people were out in crowds having fun . O9n the way to the hospital the van had a flat tyre and overheated , the brothers were stuck in traffic and were going to miss their flight and had to reschedule for another flight the next day . As the van was towed away to a mechanic the two brothers explained that the coffin would have to remain in the van . Then they booked a room in a cheap hotel and waited for the van to get fixed ,

Then that night Tommy’s ghost was out on the prowl walking the streets making mischief everywhere he went . He spooked people and took things from bags and purses like he had always done . It was his last night of having a little fun before being  buried in the ground .

The next day the brothers had a message informing them that their flight home with the coffin had been delayed due to strike action by airport baggage handlers . Tommy’s ghost was as always up to all kinds of things , .

His ghost stood there in the crowds around the streets of London making decisions that could only be called criminal . Detaining tourists access into places of interest and declaring war on police in the city . He confronted thugs and stole their drugs and he opened his fist sending unseen slaps on the wrist to those who crossed his path . Tommy went into some hotels and threw things against walls and creating havoc in rooms , scaring the guests who were there .

He was cruel but kind and only picked people who he knew deserved to be haunted and in his own way was having fun at play before he was buried in the ground . Somehow, he  knew that as long as he was still in London his spirit could not be at rest until he got home . He was still able to protect his brothers who were waiting in their hotel room for a phone call to let them know that the strike action at the airport was over .

The brothers had to explain to their family and friends what was going on do they wouldn’t be worried .

“Hurry up and bring him home “ They would always say ,

Some of them knew that Tommy was up to his old tricks and had a laugh at the goings on .

Now on the news channel came the story of an abandoned government building where scores of dead bodies had been discovered and the area was cordoned off for a special team to investigate what had happened .

\In that night the brothers had a phone call to tell them that the strike was over and their flight was now to leave that night .They took the van with coffin to the airport and were soon up in the air with Tommy and the coffin on board back to where they came from . The brothers kept saying . about poor Tommy who’s funeral  had been in detention not knowing that it actually his ghost who was behind all the chaos .

Friends and family all waited to welcome the coffin home ., The funeral went without any other incident and Tommy was laid to rest in a grave that had been saved for him by a person unknown who wanted to help the family in their time of need
