Long Time No See

I went home on my own

and found nothing had changed

the big lugs with the same hugs ,

reaching out again

What about ye, they asked me,

I just shrugged and said to them

I‘ve had some heartaches

and some back aches

and its good to be home again

Long time no see ,

seemed like an eternity ,

we thought you’d gone forever gem

and forever is a long long time .

I can’t believe that you’re standing there next to me

after all of these years its such a long time no see

The faces of my childhood friends ,

no worse off for the wear

The dimpled chins and friendly grins

were the same as ever there ,

and in there eyes a stare

that looks back and says hello

was such a long time no see

welcome that I didn’t want it to go
