The Sounds Around The Special Places
By Paul McCann
In Cushendrum the birds all hum and the bees buzz around all day,
because they want to have some fun and a wee drop of honey thay
In Cushendall the wee ones call , all night they go yakety yak.
The ducks go quack ,we’re coming back for a little bit of the craic.
Oh Cushlah dear, lets go from here, to Inisheer down by the sea.
Where wileeks hide at the low tide, in the rockpools from you and me .
Fiddely dee , fiddlely doo, all the little fish are swimming .
Oh darling are you listening, can you hear the fish all singing.

But this time of year there's
But this time of year there's not a one in Portrush
They've flown away for a warm in the Hindu Kush

Cushendall
My dad was from Cushendall. I still have relatives there.
Portrush was a bit out of bounds.
