So Sad
So sad, so sad, I think to myself.
I smile gently at her,
My arms folding round her fragile shoulders,
As if she were a ghostly swan,
A soft spun dream made from memories of feathers,
And frost kissed lilies.
So sad to think that she is dead.
I look into her eternal eyes
And float on the sea of my waning consciousness.
The light inside me flickers briefly as it fades.
I know I'm dying in her arms.
