Alucard; Secret of Serenity Part 4
Very small bugs and water dwelling animals, later known as alligators, crocodiles, sharks and whales thrived. Staying alive during these years was almost impossible. The small bugs did very little for his need for blood, but the alligators and crocodiles kept him going and the occasional whale and or shark was always a treat. Taking blood from them was almost as difficult as it had been with the Brutals, but well worth it. He fondly remembered how much excitement he had felt when stalking one of these creatures. They were water dwelling and stealthy hunters. On more than one occasion he had been attacked from behind from one of them. Nothing could kill him so he would be healing at the same moment their razor sharp teeth were tearing through his skin. Sometimes he would allow one of them to get a good grip on him to see how powerful he really was and to feel something even it was extreme pain. To end this type of embrace was utterly simple; he would slide his fingers under their upper teeth and pull up and listened as their jaws would snap. It was quite enjoyable to fight and wrestle with one of these creatures. Like him they never gave up until the life left their bodies. But they were no match for his power. He was merely toying with them.
Finally, to his relief, humans appeared. Seeing a human for the first time was etched into his brain. He was sitting on a hill, pondering his fate, wondering how long this life of torture would continue. From the corner of his eye he saw a movement. Slowly he turned his head to the right and saw a small, lithe, blond creature running through a field of grass. She seemed to appear from nowhere. He did not know what type of creature she was, only that blood ran through her veins and that she was female. Her hair was blond, eyes blue. He always remembered the color of the hair and eyes, especially the eyes. He watched her for a while marveling in how alike she was to his own form. He had to get a closer look so he shot up into the sky and swooped down on her. He flew just over her head for quite a while, watching her movements, and becoming intoxicated with the smell of her fear. She ran from him awkwardly and slow. She attempted to run from side to side in an attempt to outwit him. The smell of fear permeated through her too thin skin. She wore no attire, except for a few animal skins to protect her from the harsh environment. Her feet were also covered by animal skins that were stuffed with grass for added warmth. She had a small bag tied around her waist and another around her neck. These bags were filled with dried herbs, twigs and stones. Without a sound he fell on her from his lofty perch. When he finally dropped down in front of her, she screamed in absolute terror. He swiftly grabbed her by her long blond hair and ever so slowly pulled her off the ground. He stared at her white, slim neck for a few seconds, savoring the anticipation. The screams of terror that flowed from her mouth coupled with the tears streaming from her eyes exhilarated him. His sharp teeth slid into the thin skin of her neck like it was a cobweb. His four feeding teeth seemed to come to life with the first contact of human blood. The first taste of her blood made his body shake and quiver uncontrollably. His knees felt as if they would give way and the top of his head experienced a rush of which he had never felt before. This is what he had needed and been craving all these years. When her life ran from her body, in two, thin red streams, her eyes grew dim and a light seemed to go out in them. The sensation that coursed through his body was like none he had felt before. It was as if he had never been alive until that moment right after taking her. Every part of his body seemed to burn and at the same time tingle from the injection of human blood. The appearance of his gray, tattered skin took on a healthy pink glow. The veins and vessels turned from a sickly bluish color to bright red. He watched his body transform from a corpse-like state to one full of health and vitality. This kill excited him so much that he literally tore her limb from limb, covering himself with her torn flesh and body fluids. He stayed with this first kill for several days, savoring and reliving the experience. The small head of this creature he kept cradled in his arms and close to his strongly beating heart. Her soft, blond hair would hang down and tickle his hands and arms. It was very difficult for him to move on, but he had to search for more food. He kept the small blond head for some time. Taking it out of his leather bag to stroke and caress it but finally he decided he needed to bury it in a place of reverence and one he could revisit anytime he wished. He flew to the highest spot he could find, a great mountain covered in ice and snow, which he named The Himalayas. He knew not why he chose this name but it suited this hostile, dangerous place. On the very topmost peak he dug deep into the rock around ten feet and buried the small treasure with the face pointed up so it could always see the sky and cosmos. Around the small grave he planted extremely large boulders to mark this site and protect it from predators.
