BLESSED ARE THE FEW
The world has many wonders but I was to blind to see
I seemed stuck in winters darkness and nothing enlightened me
I'd been made redundant a victim of the modern age
And once at home every day my house became a cage
I was never made a fighter and from life I asked not much
Just to have a purpose and a loving partners touch
So on the day my world collapsed my heart did break in two
And for several months despair set in and I didn't know what to
do
A once determined figure I found the downward spiral had begun
And it seemed like twenty thousand years since I'd had any fun
Then one day a shaft of light pierced my inky tomb
It spread quite quickly through my body and lit up all the room
Very quickly I took stock of life and what I had to give
It told me depression could be beaten and returned my will to
live
I was given back my enthusiasm to rejoin the human race
Saved from total desperation by God's almighty grace.
So now my bravest face and I will greet the world anew
Safe in my reborn heart of hearts truly blessed are the few
