A Young Lady's Adventure
She never meant to do it
Never meant to be touched by fame
But it reached out to her,
And she wasn't clever enough to turn it down.
Now, when she walks
Devils follow, stealing her soul
One picture at a time.
Headlines point out her inadequacies
And her bird-like friends
Sell her life to soulless voyeurs
Just a blank canvass, painted prettily.
Nobody sees the wall behind
And nobody really cares.
She is fame.
Fame is nothing.
