Rainbow

Through the arch
of beeches dark
and cool
I gazed at the sun
hung cold blazon
of white gold
on the horizon
as I moved
forward light made twigs
christal filigree
and the last russet leaves
flicker flakes of fire
rain fell from a grey sky
and the air was ice
and in the nearly dusk
wild plum blossoms
like moon embers
and when I turned
behind a chestnut tree's
amber bark wet thick
moss shimering and lichen blue
as snakeskin
a rainbow shone
and I was glad
to be alive
