These Desert Night

Sometimes these desert nights
are so long and cool
corridors opening out upon
quiet drifts of stars
where if you don't take notice
quickly they'll take control of you
decades will rush pass
then you'll awaken
look into your bathroom mirror
and only recognize your eyes
the brown will be paler then just yesterday
you'll wonder what happened
why you're alone
you'll again walk outside
naked
look heavenward
at the quiet drifts of ancient stars
where if you don't take notice
quickly and finally
the stars will take control
decades will rush rush away
until you're unable to awaken
to desert nights so cool and long
and alive...
