Permanence

If delicate thoughts could sing
And if mountains could cry
I would take you to Mount Everest
And give my new song a try
In a land east of process
Of recognised thoughts and time
You'd melt with travel and tune
And succumb to my innocent rhyme
For you the world is an oyster
To explore but to always be near
For your loyalty reigns regardless
Even if I choose to stay here
And if worried hearts begin to singe
We'd cool it with a fountain
Whilst crystal smiles would heal it
We'd still hug upon the mountain
So when you jet off in summers soon
And my heart is heavy and sore
I'd still form a word in my Scrabble rack:
An Anagram that will wash on your shore
And If permanence could offer
A valuable return
Then I would fill your boots with diamonds
And watch mine slowly burn.
