I had a classmate when I was studying. His name was Abhijeet. After we completed graduation we started searching for a job. Our areas of specializations were different. I wanted to become a successful tester and he wanted to become a successful developer. On some occasions we used to go together for interviews. We were trying hard to get a job but all our efforts went in vain.
I can’t forget that day. I was in my room lying on my bed thinking about the strategy how I could get a job. Suddenly I heard somebody knocking the door. I opened the door. It was Abhijeet. He looked happy. Before I could ask anything he started talking. He told me that he had got a job and he would be joining in a couple of days. I was a little depressed. I asked him how he got this job?
He started telling me the story. He had a cousin brother. His uncle used to live in USA. He was running a private limited company which has one of the development centres in India.. His uncle used to call him several times. He wanted him to work for his company but he refused. He asked him for references. His brother gave his number. His uncle called Abhijeet and talked about the position which was vacant in the company. He also told him to forward his resume. He forwarded the resume to the Human resource department. After two days he was called for the interview. He went to the interview. He was told to write a code for a requirement given to him. He successfully completed that task. Lastly round was a HR round where he was asked about the salary. He was satisfied with the salary given to him. Lastly he was given the offer letter. He looked happier when he told that he would be joining in a couple of days.
Several times employees in companies are hired because of networking. It could be your friends who are in a company with whom you are connected. Sometimes it is your friend’s friend who help you to get a job call.
