This Was My Perfect Day

The chains burst me free from the weights of doubt
And shone a path way with no hurdles in sight
A horizon clean of every stone and possible negative
As though the universe and the stars had aligned to forgive
Everything I had ever done wrong in my life
For one day
There were no dark clouds looming over me,
Every joke was funny, every second clicked, Everything tasted of honey, everything worked,
Every plan went to plan and there was not a single slip to spoil it
All problems seemed to be washed away far at bay
This was my perfect day
But that day has left an emptiness
Which over time has yearned
And burned to be fulfilled
Always reaching but never touching.
