Hope On A Derelict Railyway Bridge
I walked over a derelict railway bridge,
The metal all rusty and worn,
The wood sunstained and soft,
It was the flower that caught my eye,
Drifting lazily towards the sky,
And growing there out of the wood,
I thought of hope.
From out a manmade structure,
Beauty had arrived,
From out of the remnants of nature,
A flower growing in an unnatural place,
Far away from its fellow race,
And I thought of hope.
