Whoever You Are
Staggering I wailed lost songs to you,
You were my sweetheart, you were my blues,
Choked to find the words to say,
You can come and find me anytime of day,
But you found me swimming along avoiding the sharks,
And the shapes loneliness creates in the dark,
I've spent my dreams trying to be too good to be true,
So I can only be a true gentleman to you,
Whoever you are.
Working so soulessly I ignored the rights to me,
I was your someone, I was your evictee,
When I feel asleep over issues to do with you,
You waved your hand and said,
'Goodbye this lyrical angels giving you the middle finger
salute!'
I pulled myself out the deep water shoals,
And the shapes feverishly became my headset goals,
I've cruising around saying yes to you,
And no to me,
Been waiting for you so long I can hardly breathe,
Spent my life trying to be too good to be true,
So I can only be a prefect gentleman to you,
Whoever you are.
