100 Years

Found this as I was looking through my old High School Essays.

The question that everyone asks, what hasn’t changed in 100 years, is a difficult and tricky question. My answer is love. Love may have been altered a bit, but it has never been completely changed. Love is spread though everyone. The only problem is that love is shortened and less is given out. Love is shortened when people become reclusive and never share their love to other people who give their love. This happens all the time and a way that we can stop this from happening is by including people in our lives and being nice to them and never showing them hate.
Love has definitely been altered a bit, but it hasn’t been completely changed. Even though some people may have given up on love, those who still believe are the ones who keep love from changing and disappearing. "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself" is a commandment from the bible and people still follow this commandment. This was written by Moses over two thousand years ago and nothing has changed about it. Love is spread through random acts of kindness. When you help the elderly cross the street this means that you love them enough to take time out of your day to help them. There are many ways to show random acts of kindness. All you have to do is think of a way that you would want to be treated and display that for other people. One phrase that is used very common is “Treat others as you would like to be treated.” This is a very important phrase. It means that when you show love to someone then love will be returned to you in the same form and sometimes better.
When you show that you care for something, you may not know it, but you are showing love. Love hasn’t changed because no one has given up love completely. If that ever happened, we would be in a hell-version of what we live in today. Everyone would be hateful and no one would know how to love. It would end horrible and the world would be over. Love will never change. People may have stopped loving the ones that care, but they still show love to themselves. Love is infinite and you can never be rid of it as long as there are people in the world who care.
