Arrgh... The Pirates are Here!

In the year of 2003 Pirates came from Disney World with a "swash and buckle" and took over the black screen. According to the synopsis found on IMDB, this movie is about "Blacksmith Will Turner teams up with eccentric pirate "Captain" Jack Sparrow to save his love, the governor's daughter, from Jack's former pirate allies, who are now undead." (IMDB).

Okay, so that was a website's point of view, now it's time for a different one. So in this movie the main characters are:

Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow
Orlando Bloom as William Turner
Kiera Knightly as Elizabeth Swann
Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa

Below, I'm going to give a brief opening and middle of the storyline. Then I will give my opinion.

The scene begins on a ship where Elizabeth Swann is 12 years old and she is with her father and Lieutenant James Norrington. Elizabeth notices that there is a boy about the same age floating on a piece of wood in the middle of the ocean. The men hauled him onto their ship and Elizabeth was in charge of taking care of the boy. This boy was William Turner and around his neck was a pirate’s medallion. She knew not to say anything because the laws of her country meant that any and all pirates would have a short drop and a sudden stop.

Eight years later, Elizabeth is a beautiful young woman ready to be married off to Commodore James Norrington. William Turner became the blacksmith's apprentice.
The notorious pirate Captain Jack Sparrow arrives in Port Royal to commandeer a ship. He rescues Elizabeth from sea, but Commodore Norrington recognizes Jack as a pirate and arrests him. Jack Sparrow ducks into a blacksmith's shop, encountering Will Turner. After a sword duel between the two, Jack is knocked unconscious and jailed. That night Port Royal is besieged by the Pearl, answering the medallion's pulse. Elizabeth is captured and invokes parley.

Will Turner suggests that they make a deal with Captain Sparrow to lead them to the Black Pearl, but Norrington refuses. Will helps Jack escape the jailhouse and they commandeer the HMS Interceptor and recruit a crew in Tortuga with the help from Jack's old friend, Gibbs. They set sail for Isla de Muerta so Will can rescue the love of his life. Now you have to watch to find out what happens next…

In my opinion, this movie is an exceptional one. Pirates are amazing and follow their own rules and venture out in the sea to find treasure. What about you?
