C) Hunger

Same old story, same old rhyme,
Found in every world and time.
On the outside, looking through.
Border marked - them and you.
Hallucinations, cruel and kind,
Prey upon your lovetorn mind.
You can touch, but it's not real,
Not the touch you want to feel.
Laugh with him, pretend you're there.
The laughter mingles in the air;
So pretend you're joined with him
And she is outside, looking in.
Pretend he holds you in his arms,
Safe from fear, safe from harm.
Ethereal though it may be,
You love the strong security
And hate it when the dreams are lost,
His warm embrace now empty frost.
You should be happy; he's in bliss,
But all you think of is that kiss.
Love is selfish, love is greed,
It only wants to take and feed.
When hunger comes then love is pain.
