O - Word Blindness

He wrote me a letter
to tell me how he felt.
Little knowing
word blindness
would hinder his approach.
I spoke in rhythms
a maze of lines
a tale unhindered
not knowing
his smile was a grimace
as inside he grieved.
Little knowing
word blindness
had hindered his approach
Missing the point
he moved on
not realising
that sometime later
I'd pick up his message.
The consequences of
word blindness
a little to late
it left me in a daze
as his words
suddenly makes sense
but that he never thought
of the problem
he had sent
so encouraged by my invite
Word blindness
still hindered his approach
He knew but did not
give a margin to its extent
didn't think of the time
it would take
for his written word
to sink in
so unsure it makes you
to late
word blindness
leaves nothing but a sour note
