You

The space between us stretches
over countries, and oceans.
The distance teases me, by
saying we will never be together.
I hate it, and pretend not to
see. If I don't see it-
It can't be real, I say,
Almost believing myself.
The aching of my young body
Is a kind of calling,
I cannot control it, and
It wants you.
You have no choice.
The memory of you is etched in my mind
like aincent hyrogliphics on the side
Of a towering pyramid.
Sometimes I find it hard to decipher their meanings,
But my hand runs across them,
And I know they simply mean
"You"
You are so far from me,
physically and mentally, And
I want you even more than before.
Do you understand? Do you hear me?
I'm kidding myself.
Of course you don't.
You never did, Did you?
