Just ten minutes he said.
Not long to wait.
Sixty seconds and one minute past.
A sigh, another's gone just like the last.
A breath, and ten of these a third.
Fourth in the wing beat of a bird.
As quickly as a breeze through lofty leaves
A passing thought, and five of these
Is nine. Until the telephone wont ring,
And then the real waiting begins.
