Months ago and miles could you have wondered
from the same vantage point, the same views
of departure bars, uniformed crews;
of trees not yet in leaf, green peep pondered
Did you half-expect the clatter of astonish;
window views of Kentish fender-bender?
internal chatter, the calm of dark wood blend, the
moment lingers when the movements vanish.
Still, outside the concrete slowly slid
into recess as acetone strips polish
like compulsion from an alcoholic
where we could only recover after we bled.
and now your journey moments in front of me,
conjoined our worlds across the lung-fluid sea.
