Walking home on a dismal day with a load of dismal thoughts.
I watched the raindrops fall to the ground, reflecting the lavish
golden ears of corn around me.
As I stared into the glassy puddle before me,
I saw the image of myself when I was happy and joyous.
That part of my mind a vacant blank space.
The increasing circles on the water surface seemed to exemplify the
magnitude of misery.
Then in a rash attempt to quash this burden I stepped on the stone
beneath the water.
It cracked as the implacable Earth swallowed and stifled my dreams.
