Winter friend perches majestically, sovereign of his kingdom.
Adorned in splendrous robes of chestnut, ivory grey and the finest
delicate crimson.
He holds precedence for his subjects dare not usurp his throne-
He resides in the imperial oak tree at the end of my garden.
Winter friend arises from his throne to re-arrange his plumage,
His soft feathers united in shielding him from the disdainful cold
air.
The gracious sun warms his body and melts the shards of opal frost upon
his beak.
He calls to his dynasty in regal tones so that he may feed upon the
plumpest berries.
Winter friend - our robin a perfect symbol of grandeur.
