Heroic Jailbait

Hooper reached a stalemate
Reaching for the tailgate
of his jeepy-jeepity-jeep
and the locals called him a creep
And sent him down the old mineshaft
with only a pickle and a small bag of oats
It was dark down there
and the wind bit into his fur
like Dingus did
when Poyn pinched his tag.
The locals
Got all vocal
When Hooper
Didn't return
So they filled in the mine
And sipped cheese and wine
and the whining of Hooper
could not be heard
Above the voices
But he tunnelled like a little tiny mole
tunnelled day and night
scraping out the earth
until the light of freedom
was in sight
but then he got stuck.
