Always Fight For What You Believe Josh
I endured so much pain and loss many years ago Before your mother was born Josh, and the nightmares never leave even the bravest of man, that goes through all that, scars are always visible even if not physical ones.I never imagined there would be even more brutal ones ahead. You younger folk know it as World war 11, what was special for me lad was that I never had to question the pride I felt fighting for My country even though I was Just seventeen and nervous. But Like many, we also fought For Liberty and freedom for all,but we never imagined the enemie would be from within and the hardest fight would be from our own!
'what's changed grandfather'
So much Josh, there are always hard times in any situation and country, and no one all the time makes the right choices, but one thing we had when we were in our foreign War Josh, was our Dignity and each other, and once we said we would do something, we did and never went back on what we promised. Today men and women, boys and girls are sent off to various conflicts, without proper equipment, or training of what to expect after they return to their own life, if they are lucky to return at all. that's really hard to imagine how they would cope these days and another worst part of it, is that most wars aren't even ours to be in, or to lose our children from them.
They are not protected during or after Josh, and often sadly forgot about the brave, like your mother Josh, who ended up giving her life for her country, and when she was at their mercy, they literally shut the door on her face, after the usually 5 minute publicity stunt meeting. I remember the single tear that strolled down her face when they did that at number 10, No way of communicating only with her blue beautiful eyes that use to smile so wide, before they took her pride and life.
She never got over even the prime minister saying the usual prepared politician speech ' while we feel deeply grateful for your service protecting our great nation and sorry for your severe injury, which caused you too lose movement in all your limbs from the head down, we have to follow government and military policies, my hands are tied.' she asked him 'why' when he was the very person in charge of polices of the country, we voted in to power, after all they make the decisions no one else and certainly not the main tax payers. I remember staying awake 7 nights and days with your brave, wonderful mother Josh, who even when they took her last few months of her life and any good memories away, she still spoke of others with her last breath.
What your mother wanted from the military, prime minister, government were better training for soldiers not just going in to a war, but for after when they leave through injury and have no money or home to go to, or even support. This country is sadly in such a mess it can no longer look after civilians without cutting so much benefits or increasing taxes, or worse, so brave people like your mother never stand a chance. No matter what party is in number 10, they all say the same, 'we will make the U.K a better place' and promise us lots, but deliver only a small amount, if at all.
So while you should always be proud where you were born and the language you speak, never allow others to take your pride, dignity or beliefs and any issues you have with the government or any one else, have your say, find ways to say it calmly, say it safely, even say it over a matter of time, if that what it takes, but most importantly just say it, and make them listen.
