Don't Jinx It

Am wondering if Green Man is bringing good luck to my door. A weird thought. Can Green Man charm good luck?
Have I just jinxed it? [knocks on wood].
Let’s assume it is the case, that Green Man draws benevolence. Green Men could be sent to world leaders, help them realise the good fortune they already have, unjinx their fucked-up world views of fear and lack, what is power, what is grace.
Because, the people are for peace.
Like Green Man.
Green Man personifies change, the natural order of things, balance at its core. Not fear. Not lack. Enough. For need, not greed. Do the trees fear losing their leaves in the Autumn? Do the snowdrops fear peeping up amongst frost crystals? No. They need the loss, they need the cold, to become most truly themselves.
This morning, another email from a 5Rythms dance teacher. He created his own dance-movement philosophy after Gabriel Roth died. He is dreadfully ill. I don’t know how to respond to death and dire news in email or Facebook, other than wish they wouldn’t do that. Such impersonal methods for outcries from the human heart.
He is giving up his work.
Stillness.
I wrote thanking him, still teaching us with his honesty and grace. Although it’s easy to be graceful in an email. Am sure he has days he howls like a wolf. I hope he does just that. Howl. It is so wonderful to be alive.
Yet, I write of my good fortune. Small things. Should I not?
Reading in my kitchen, there came a rumbling sound. Men arrived, stonemasons, to fix the garden wall.
The wall is fixed.
It will all be okay.
The wars will end, the peace will hold.
The world will be okay.
All, is resolved.
One way or another.
