The Faceless Goddess of DIY

She is fearless, she is tidy. When she’s not DIYing, she’s making bread and chutney. She has exquisite taste in paint colours, (although she ‘bead and butts’ anything that doesn’t stand still, even the bed). She is the faceless goddess of DIY, Cerridiyen.
She has a hot gun and a nail gun. I don’t want a hot gun (it strips off old paint) or a nail gun (lethal weapon) as I cannot even be trusted to cut bread straight. But she is DIY ‘Annie Oakley’. I am alternately hooked on, or sickened into envious strops by, the cottagecore videos of her super-competent DIYing of her lovely house. (Although, sometimes mute them as the music gets on my nerves).
She has hutzpah. She has all the tools. She rips out windows in a single bound, hot-gunning the paint off, repairing and repainting, then fitting them all back together again. Her draught-proofing proofs all the draughts.
So when, at dinner one evening, I heard that midnight robin was back, and sat back to enjoy his singing, I found myself wondering if I should be able to hear midnight robin singing quite so clearly through the kitchen door. The re-draught-proofing isn’t done yet, but even so.
Then, as if in divine intervention, recalled a recent Cerridiyen episode, where she cut out half a door, stuck in some window glass with silicon, then nail-gunned the trim on. It was awesome. Now she may have a husband and two strapping sons who, when home from university, help take doors off hinges and put them back on again, but even so, silicon around the glass on the kitchen door windows seems like a plan to me.
All hail Cerridiyen of ‘Boundary Road’!
Actually, she’s a Youtuber called Claire.
Chapeau Claire!
I wonder if she does homers?

You have hutzpah. Your writing has so much vibrant life, and the conversational style is addictive. Like Insert, you sent me down a rabbit hole. I couldn't find Cerridiyen, but I found the Welsh Cerridwen which I believe must be related if not the same thing. She created a magical brew that contained Awen, the Universal flowing source and magical essence from which we all came. Awen is the essence of life in which everything swims and it's that that I get from your writing. If you don't mind me saying.
Always enjoy your entries.
