Things to Do While it Doesn't Snow

Only hail stones and steel grey skies Tuesday. Still no snow, and the day never really got light. Polar night officially started a few weeks ago. I know this as a Swedish YouTuber, who lives on Svalbard, and never seems to be able to get over how cold it is and how dark it’s getting, posts spectacular videos about her life there. Cecila Blomdahl. Cecilia is delightfully bananas and where she lives is one of the wonders of the modern world. Plus, love, love, love her new kitchen. She posts on a Sunday afternoon. It’s a post-walk treat to watch her videos and marvel at how her boyfriend hardly says a word, while she never stops talking. It’s part of their whacky charm, and her photography is spectacular. The drone footage of white beluga whales, awesome. They have a dog, Grim, who grins. Cecilia has a new book on Svalbard. (Already bought it. Sagittarius rising “Nothing can deter them from taking decisions and planning for the future…a life-long learner and love reading”).
‘Twas in the stars.
The original YouTuber who got me watching snowy videos is another Swede, Jonna Jinton. Recently she’s got a bit moany as a bit burned out IMHO, but her photography and art work have won prizes in Sweden and on YouTube. She has a lovely house in the north of Sweden, second house, she bought with her prize-money and refurbished, that is her art studio and a cabin in the mountains. The video where she reveals her art studio make-over, love, love, love. The ones where she takes ice baths in the lake, don’t love so much.
Stonehaven open air pool has started cold water swims this season. 30 minutes maximum. I long to be the sort who relishes icy plunges, but the very thought!
