A lesson

It all started on a normal day of school. I walked around the school
grounds, talking to Sophie, my best friend. We sat on our normal picnic
bench with a book in our hands (we were bookworms) Sophie and me then
sat up and talked about the movie version. It seemed absolutely normal.
But then Sophie then asked me if Eliza could read with us, but I
straight away said N.O. Eliza Bell? That horrible witch?? I hated her.
She was mean, bossy, and way too weird. But I couldn't complain, could
I? So was I! I looked at Eliza for a second, she was playing some
racing game with her friends Debbie, Theresa and Sharon. I hated them
too. There was a distant bell sound-Break was over. Me, Sophie and
Eliza marched gloomily back into the classroom. "Good Morning class"
Miss Hall said. She was a teacher who thought she could do everything
(especially sing) But she was awful. Most of us didn't like her, but
Mary did. Anyway back to the story. I sat down at my desk and put my
book down. I knew it was a huge crime to interrupt her lesson. "Right,
we're going down to our computer lesson. I'll put you in partners.
Sophie and&;#8230;Eliza" Sophie groaned and smiled weakly at me
"Debbie and Theresa, Mary and&;#8230;" I hoped she said Hannah,
because me and her were good friends too "Isabel. Stephanie
and&;#8230;.Denise, Kelly and&;#8230;er&;#8230;.Heather.
Pamela and&;#8230;.Sharon. Wendy and&;#8230;.Hannah" She smiled
at me. I beamed at her because Wendy and I were friends. After we were
all paired up she said "Okay, Everyone paired up? Lets go, BUT QUIETLY,
better than last time please" We walked down and went onto a computer,
Our topic was on a fiction book of our choice. I knew what I was going
to choose. Sophie and I had already decided what ours was about. Harry
Potter. It was both our favourites. Sophie wrote about "Witchcraft and
Wizardry-The truth" And I wrote about "Child Abuse in the book" Even
though I wanted to do the witchcraft report. But that nosy twit Eliza
HAD to poke her nose in "Witchcraft, eh? I know a lot about that" She
whispered to Sophie. Sophie just stared at her. "You what?" She
answered. She knew how much I hated Eliza and decided not to get
involved "I'll tell you later" she said seeing Miss Hall approach. I
stared at her. How DARE she! I was fuming with anger. She was such a
horrible, mean person. I walked over to Sophie at the end of the lesson
and exited the classroom with her. She looked all green and scared.
"What's wrong?" I asked her concerningly. "Oh nothing" She replied. I
thought that it must have been something REALLY BAD because she
wouldn't tell me! Her best friend And then I thought "ELIZA!" It had to
be her! I ran following Eliza. "Elizabeth" I yelled to her "IT IS NOT
ELIZABETH! IT IS ELIZA EL-I-ZA! E.L.I.Z.A. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME,
WOMEN?" She screamed to me "Yeah, whatever Elizabeth" I replied,
grinning. She sighed very impatiently. "What do you want, wormbrain?
I'm in a rush!" "I want to ask you, what did you do with Sophie?" She
suddenly turned very pale "What do you mean?" "I mean, what happened
with Sophie?" She paused and looked around "Sorry gotta go, see ya
tomorrow. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow. Sophie said you'd be the
best person to tell anyway. See ya!" I stood there stunned "Ok" I
muttered to myself. "Hey, look, Hannah is talking to herself. She is
mad!!!" Yelled Isabel. She was mad, not me! Then she cackled like a
witch. "Why" I asked, staring at her, "Do you laugh so evilly?" * I
silently walked home and Sophie joined me. She seemed so normal. I
stared blankly at her and raised an eyebrow. What was up with her?
"What's wrong Hannah?" She asked me "I think I'm out of my mind, that's
what" I murmured. "What's that?" She asked "Oh, nothing" *

I went home and lay down. It was absolutely normal again. I relaxed for
ten minutes. I have this really cool thing where I put colours on the
wall, they fly and it's SO relaxing! I was just getting comfortable
when the phone started ringing. I sighed deeply and switched of my
music. I grabbed the phone reluctantly and said "Hello" But the other
side had a voice I'd never heard before, it wasn't Sophie, Mary, not
even Wendy! "Hey, Hannah" it said. I was stunned, none of my friends
said "hey" "Er-who on earth is this?" I asked "It's me, Eliza, do you
remember me?" it said. I was still and silent. "Er...how did you get my
number?" I asked her, squinting. Her voice suddenly changed! "HA! It's
me! Sophie, didn't you recognise me?" I was furious! "SOPHIE, YOU
INTERGALACTIC IMBECILE! YOU KNOW THIS IS MY RELAXATION TIME, I AM BUSY
YOU IDIOT. DON'T CALL ME AT THIS TIME EVER AGAIN!" I screamed and
slammed he phone down, breathing deeply. I laid down again. After a
while I had calmed down, I thought. "What have I done, I just bailed on
Sophie, my best friend!" I was so unhappy. I called up Sophie and said
"Hey, I'm so sorry for losing my temper like that. Are we still
friends?" "What are you talking about?" she asked "No, what are you
talking about? Remember, you just called me up and pretended to be
Eliza. And-and I was furious-and-and was. Oh don't tell me you've
forgotten!" "I obviously have!" "Ok, ok. Just answer one question
please," I took a deep breath, hoping I'd get an answer, "What did
Eliza say to you?" She immediately answered "I don't know what you
mean, Eliza said nothing and is perfectly normal, please try to be her
friend" She said it in a deep drone, one like a zombie. It was like The
Demon Headmaster where all the hypnotised people say "This is the best
school I've ever been to" It was like she had been hypnotised. I
couldn't bear the thought of it. "Ok then, see you tomorrow" I answered
to her. I think she said but, but I'd already put the phone down.

The next day wasn't too normal. The first weird thing I was I went to
Eliza to ask her what was up. Do you know what she did? She pretended
that she didn't know what I was talking about. The nerve. The second
weird thing was that Sophie was playing with Eliza. This really got me
angry! I walked up to her, but then a group of immature brats walked in
front of me. By the time they were gone Eliza and Sophie had vanished!
I ran to Wendy who was standing there, a few yards away "Where have
Eliza and Sophie gone" she briskly said "I don't know what you mean,
Eliza said nothing and is completely normal" Just like Sophie had done!
Things were becoming creepy!
